Each year, the Twickenham
& Thames Valley Bee-keepers' hold an annual programme of events. The
actual times and dates vary each season so look out for details of our
Open Day and Honey Show in the local press, or get in touch for more information.
Sat. May 17th 2008 at 2 p.m. Public Open Day
An opportunity to find out about bee-keeping, see bees in observation hives, buy honey and plants and participate in a fun afternoon.
At 5 p.m. there will be a demonstration of practical bee-keeping
if you wish to find out more. Clothing will be provided.
Sun. Oct 5th 2008 at 1 p.m. *The Honey Show*
Visitors very welcome!
A showcase of top quality hive products. Come and find out just how wonderful
honey can taste! TTVBKA and Members honey will be on sale. Enjoy bidding for
honey and other garden produce at the Auction, which starts at 4 p.m. If you are an exhibitor, there are new classes this year and changes to the entry rules - please read the Schedule carefully!
Judging takes place on Saturday 4th. (The dates in BUZZ are incorrect).

Thurs, Oct. 9th 2008 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The FREE Winter Beginners Classes begin
Prospective bee-keepers can start with this series of ten evening
classes held indoors in the Miller Hall at the Apiary.
Suitable for all and providing a good basis for the summer activity. There is no active bee-keeping in this series.

Rosina Clarke Memorial Lecture &
Presidents Evening Nov.14th 2008 - 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. Dr. David Perkins, from Roots and Shoots, will talk on 'The unsuspected biology of solitary bees'.
